Every Community Begins with a Conversation

One evening, while taking a stroll, Taruna Vatsa and I found ourselves discussing how difficult it has become for professionals to genuinely connect with one another.
With many people working from home and others spending hours commuting, opportunities to meet like-minded individuals, exchange ideas, and learn together have become increasingly rare.
That conversation planted the seed for what is now the EI HR Circle—a community envisioned by me and Taruna. It was brought to life as a joint initiative by both of us under Trellis Consulting.
The idea was simple: create a space where HR professionals, business leaders, founders, technologists, and curious learners could come together—not just for networking, but for meaningful conversations, collaborative learning, and building authentic professional relationships.
A place where knowledge is shared freely, diverse perspectives are welcomed, and every interaction leaves us with a new perspective.
Last Saturday, on 4th July, 2026, while Mumbai was under a Red Alert and much of the city slowed down, the EI HR Club came alive with its very first learning session on "The Landscape of AI in HR."
The session brought together an enthusiastic group of professionals, including Neha Sharma, Kaninika Thakur, Khushbu, Harinath, and Ada Vatsa, each contributing unique perspectives and experiences that enriched the discussions.
The diversity in the room made the conversations more insightful and reaffirmed the power of learning through a community.
What unfolded was far more than a workshop.
The room was filled with curiosity. Conversations moved seamlessly between the technical foundations of AI—agents, workflows, prompt engineering, and emerging capabilities—and the practical realities of implementing AI in HR.
We explored real-world use cases, debated opportunities and challenges, reflected on ethical considerations, and discussed how organizations can adopt AI thoughtfully while keeping people at the center.
Equally enriching were the conversations between sessions.
New connections were formed, ideas were exchanged, and professionals discovered common ground beyond their organizations and roles.
It was a reminder that while technology is transforming the way we work, human connections continue to be the catalyst for meaningful learning.
This is just the beginning. Our goal for the EI HR Club is to grow into a vibrant community where professionals can delve into fresh ideas, challenge the status quo, build meaningful connections, and evolve together.
In a world overflowing with information, it’s the trusted relationships, thoughtful dialogue, and shared learning that will always be our greatest asset.
Here's to many more evening walks that spark new ideas—and many more Saturdays that transform those ideas into meaningful communities.
