Think You Know Mumbai?

A Sunday Morning of Stories, Secrets and Surprises

How well do we really know the city we call home?

Beyond its familiar landmarks and bustling streets lies a Mumbai full of quirky secrets, fascinating histories and stories waiting to be discovered.

On November 1st, families are invited to spend a Sunday morning together at Think You Know Mumbai?, a lively, interactive session presented by EI Library as the curtain raiser to Stories by the Lake 2.0.

Taking place at Clubhouse 1 MPH, Emerald Isle, the session will be led by Fiona Fernandez, Features Editor at mid-day and an accomplished journalist and author with a deep interest in Mumbai’s heritage and cultural history.

Her books include H for Heritage: Mumbai and Ten Heritage Walks of Mumbai.

Through her work, Fiona brings alive the stories behind the city’s historic landmarks, architectural treasures and lesser-known cultural gems.

Expect an engaging exploration of Mumbai’s fascinating past and present, with surprising facts and curious discoveries that will delight both children and adults.

It is an opportunity to put your city knowledge to the test, discover something new and, most importantly, enjoy a Sunday morning of shared discoveries with your child.

The session is free and open to children and parents.

And this is just the beginning…

The morning marks the countdown to Stories by the Lake 2.0, a day-long children’s literature festival organised by Brainologi on Sunday, 29 November 2026, at Hiranandani Gardens, Powai.

Bringing together books, authors, workshops and immersive experiences, the festival celebrates stories, imagination and the joy of discovering new ideas together.

It is designed to give children and their parents a day of meaningful experiences beyond the everyday.

So, start with a morning of discovering Mumbai’s secrets — and then fix a date with your child on 29 November for a day filled with stories, imagination and discovery at Stories by the Lake 2.0.

Memories from last year’s Stories by the Lake, featuring renowned personalities like Shri Devdutt Pattanaik.
