October is here, and we are right in the middle of the festive season. On one side, our society is buzzing with preparations—shopping, decluttering, cleaning homes, and getting ready for celebrations.

On the other, entrepreneurs are busy making the most of the festive rush and maximising their sales. October is certainly a month that never gets dull!

This edition is special to me for several reasons. Dr. Shweta Bahety seems to have decided that enough is enough! Through her article, “Sanctuary over Scroll,” she brings scientifically backed research to explain what happens inside our minds when we keep scrolling on our phones.

Perhaps it’s time we paused and reflected on our screen habits!

Namya offers a different perspective on the sensitivity of brand marketing when it intersects with our traditions and customs. Her article, “Rakhi, Necklines & Jewellery,” explores how brands navigate the fine line between marketing and cultural sensibilities.

Adv. Chandini sheds light on the legal perspective of POSH compliance through her article, “POSH Compliance…”—an important subject that deserves awareness and attention.

As this month’s theme is “Art & Photography,” several members of our society have come forward to share their artistic expressions and perspectives.

It is wonderful to see how art gives each of us a unique way to observe, interpret, and express the world around us.

Our Entertainment Review section, which we introduced three months ago, continues to bring fresh perspectives. This month, we have two distinctive reviews:

“Are We Already Inside the Matrix?” by Harinath — connecting the dots across science-fiction films from the past and exploring the questions they raise about our reality.

“Musafir Cafe” by Vikas Miglani — a book/series review that invites us to explore another world through storytelling.

We also welcome two young, first-time contributors to our Art & Photography theme.

This was followed by “What Is Freedom for Me?” by Pooja Dixit, which invited readers to reflect on what freedom means to them.
